What sets InsideOut apart from other coding schools and bootcamps?
At InsideOut, our learning isn’t confined by four walls or a traditional classroom setting. In fact, we do not have teachers. Our programs are tailored for everyone –whether you are changing careers, a stay-at-home parent, or simply someone eager to learn to code and build projects you care about.
The program lasts 1 to 1.5 years and is primarily self-paced, giving you the freedom to learn at your own speed, but you do need to attend in person. Best of all, our programs are completely free of charge, breaking down barriers to accessible, high-quality education.
Our school is built on the principles of social constructivism – the belief that knowledge is best constructed through collaboration, experience, and diverse perspectives. Our unique learning approach is rooted in interdisciplinary research from fields like learning sciences, psychology, and cognitive sciences, offering cutting-edge educational experiences that adapt to the needs of each student.

learning
We have removed the traditional teacher role to foster a more collaborative learning experience driven by students themselves. By working closely with your peers, you will be pushed to seek out and share knowledge, tackle real-world problems, and reach goals as a group.
During your immersive programs, you will have a weekly challenge that will require you to work in a team to solve very challenging problems. As you move into the study phase, your projects will be assessed through peer reviews, giving you invaluable feedback from your fellow learners. This approach not only sharpens your coding skills but also builds essential communication and teamwork abilities – skills that are just as crucial in the professional world.
gamified experience
Our program incorporates elements of gameplay to make your learning experience more fun, engaging, and immersive. We have taken an innovative approach to create a dynamic learning environment. So, you will see various IoT devices throughout our on-site campus. These aren’t there to monitor you – they are designed to enhance your learning experience, making it more interactive and enjoyable. In our own Learning Management System (LMS), you will earn experience points as you complete projects, level up, and unlock new branches of learning.
self-directed learning
At InsideOut, you are the master of your own learning, which calls for discipline and a proactive mindset. Our learning materials are available through our Learning Management System (LMS), which you can access on our on-site computers. However, completing every module is not compulsory – they’re there to offer structure and guidance, not to dictate your path. You will have the freedom to skip modules that aren’t relevant to your projects, allowing you to focus on what matters most to you.
While we provide resources to help you, we also encourage you to seek out additional materials on your own – building a crucial skill for navigating the real world, where you won’t be spoon-fed with solutions.
flexible timeframe
We don’t set strict schedules or timetables like traditional schools. Instead, you will receive milestones and suggested deadline, but it’s up to you to decide how much time you need – whether that’s more or less than recommended. Our full time study program is designed to take about 1.5 years, though some students will progress faster while others may take a bit longer. That’s completely okay, it’s the results that matter and everyone’s path is unique.
project-based
learning
Unlike traditional school, where you learn all the theories first and apply them later or never, we approach learning differently. Here, you will start by choosing a project that excites you, and together, we will explore the necessary theories as you progress. This way, you won’t waste time learning concepts that may never be used in real life.
At the start of your studies, we will provide one-on-one consultations to help you map out the projects you are interested in pursuing. From there, you will carve your own path, selecting the software, tools, and programming languages that are most relevant to your project goals. And remember, your peers are there to support you and help keep you accountable along the way.
accessible 24/7 Campus
We are committed to providing accessible learning. The campus is open 24/7, recognizing that everyone is productive at different times of the day or has different schedules and commitments. You will have everything you need on-site. While having your own device can be helpful for practicing at home, it is not required. All our computers are pre-installed with the necessary software, and you can request additional applications if needed. Plus, our campus also has a maker space where you can integrate them with your projects if you are interested.
Our campus is currently under construction, and in the meantime, we’ve partnered with local government agencies to use the space in the library as our main campus. We’re excited to unveil our brand-new campus in 2026, where you’ll have access to 24/7 facilities designed to support your learning experience around the clock.
Structure of the program
Immersive Program
3 months
The immersive program, part of the admission process, is your chance to test out our self-directed, peer-to-peer learning model and see if it’s the right process. This isn’t a competition, and you won’t be graded on a standardized scale. Instead, you are encouraged to collaborate and work together with other applicants. We don’t have a fixed admission rate – if everyone succeeds, we take everyone in our study program. If you find this learning style is not for you, you can opt-out at any point.
Full-Time Study
1 to 1.5 years
You will embark on a personalized learning journey with access to a collaborative peer network. The program is self-directed, allowing you to explore projects aligned with your interests and career goals. Alongside building technical expertise, you’ll develop essential soft skills, equipping you for the real-world challenges of the tech industry. By the end of the program, you’ll have a strong portfolio and extensive hands-on experience, ready to showcase your growth and achievements.

We promise that by the end of the program, you’ll have grown in unexpected ways, and we’ll be here to guide you every step of the way.
How to Apply
The first step is to fill out a short form with your personal details and confirm your eligibility for our program. No experience or degrees are required. Once you have completed the form, we will invite you for a check-in, which can be done online or in person at our campus. From there, you can register for our immersive program, giving you three months to experience our unique learning model and see if it’s the right fit for you. If you successfully complete the immersive program, you will be invited to join our full study program.
